Zug um Zug Deutschland – an exclusive German and Austrian market version of Ticket to Ride

Asmodee GmbH, Days of Wonder’s German distributor, announced Zug um Zug Deutschland (Ticket to Ride Germany) at the Nuremberg Toy Fair this week.
A complete, stand-alone game, Zug um Zug Deutschland is an adaptation of the same map and routes first introduced in Ticket to Ride Märklin, with a thematic change, the map now being set in turn-of-the-20th-century Germany. The game rules do not include the Merchandise and Passengers mechanisms present in Märklin.

Zug um Zug Deutschland was developed and produced specifically at Asmodee GmBH’s request for distribution in the mass market; this game will only be available in Germany and Austria. It is expected to ship during the second half of 2012 with pricing and specific availability dates to be announced later by Asmodee GmBH.
Ticket to Ride Märklin will continue to be available worldwide in English, French and German language editions.

Ticket to Ride India now available

The new Ticket to Ride India expansion is now available at game retailers in North America and around the world, as well as at the Days of Wonder web store.

Hedgerow Hell & Tigers Battle Maps available online

Two of the Memoir ’44 Battle Map expansions which are no longer in print have now been “declassified” and all the scenarios they contained are available as Official Scenarios in the Memoir ’44 Military Archives.

You can now download and play the 4 Overlord scenarios from those expansions: Hedgerow Hell, Cadets of Saumur, Tigers in the Snow and Operation Market Garden.

The Further Adventures of Nuns on a Train

In November we launched our first video commercial. Devilishly Fun featured Ticket to Ride on the iPad, and oh yeah… nuns on a train.

Well if it’s Christmas week it must be time for the sequel. This time the board game takes center stage with more nuns, more trains, and, oh yeah, a whole bunch of gotcha!

The commercial is currently playing before the previews in many movie theaters throughout the US before the new Stephen Spielberg/Peter Jackson movie, The Adventures of Tintin.Get your popcorn early and be on the lookout for Nuns on a Train – Next Stop Pittsburgh…

The Battle is joined – debut of M44 Campaign Book Vol. 2

Memoir ’44 Campaign Book Volume 2 is now available in game stores throughout North America and is expected to be in game stores throughout Europe the week before Christmas.

This second hardcover supplement for the Memoir ’44 game system includes 5 distinct theaters of operation:

Island Hoppers, a Grand Campaign covering the re-conquest of the Pacific by the Allied forces;
Bicycle Blitzkrieg, the lesser studied Japanese invasion of Malaya in 1941-42;
Break through Normandy, a new challenge in the grand scale of the Memoir ’44 Breakthrough format;
Fall of Poland, depicting the desperate resistance of Polish forces against the Germans in September 1939;
Air Aces, which follows the exploits of famous air aces throughout World War II.

Memoir ’44 Campaign Book Volume 2 includes a 128-page hardbound book with Advanced Campaign Rules, 11 different campaigns and 46 new scenarios, plus a punchboard with 50 new game tokens. This expansion requires the original Memoir ’44 board game and additional, theater-specific expansions for each of the campaigns presented.

In addition to game stores in North America, the Memoir ’44 Campaign Book Volume 2 is now shipping from the Days of Wonder US Web Store. Those who pre-ordered (in North America only) will also receive the Invasion of Crete bonus Tournament Scenarios.

In Europe pre-orders from the Days of Wonder Euro webstore are expected to ship around December 20 and Memoir’44 Campaign Book Volume 2 should be available in retail stores the same week.

Ticket to Ride India – Time to Get on Board

Ticket to Ride India – the second volume of the new Map Collection series – is arriving at the station. This expansion to the award-winning Ticket to Ride series features 2 maps: the brand new map of India designed by contest winner Ian Vincent, plus Ticket to Ride Switzerland, the terrific but long out of print map for 2 and 3 players.

Ticket to Ride India will be available from retail stores throughout Europe beginning tomorrow (Friday, December 9), as well as from the Days of Wonder European web store.
The ferry crossing to North America is taking a bit longer, but we expect Map Collection Volume 2 to reach these shores in early January. You can pre-order Ticket to Ride India from the US web store starting today.

Start Digging – Small World Tunnels are here

Small World Tunnels, the new free mini-expansion, is now available from game stores throughout North America and Europe. (Note: some stores may ask that you be a customer or make a purchase to qualify for the Tunnels expansion.) Tunnels connects the original Small World game board to Small World Underground so you can play in both worlds. Visit the Tunnels web page to learn more.

If there is no store near you, you can also order one directly from the Days of Wonder web store. The Tunnels expansion is free, but unless you also purchase another product you’ll have to pay a small shipping and handling fee. There’s a limit of only 1 free Tunnels expansion per customer.
